What is Golden Paste for Dogs?

Golden paste is a golden elixir for your fur baby to build strong immunity, it contains our oldest superfood - Turmeric. To activate the curcumin in turmeric, we use a bit of freshly ground black pepper and the entire mix is brought together with some cold-pressed coconut oil.
It is excellent for dogs with arthritis, joint pain, digestive issues, allergies and skin problems. Golden Paste Recipe for Dogs

Prepping time: 05 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes

Total time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:
One cup of water
Half a cup of turmeric
One-fourth cup of virgin, cold-pressed coconut oil
One tablespoon of ground, black pepper
 
Kitchen Tools:
Stove-top saucepan
Ladle
Measuring cups (optional)
Airtight storage container (glass or metal)

Instructions for Golden Paste for Dogs:

1. Place a pan on the stove and add one cup of water. Heat the water until it becomes slightly warm. 2. Add half a cup of turmeric to the warm water and mix thoroughly.
3. Allow the mixture to simmer for two minutes while stirring.
4. After two minutes, pour in one-fourth cup of coconut oil and stir well.
5. Keep the flame on low to medium heat. Continuously stir the mixture to prevent burning.
6. Turn off the flame and sprinkle one tablespoon of pepper into the mixture and mix well.
7. Voila! Your super healthy, droolicious supplement is now ready to enjoy!

Storage Tips for Golden Paste for Dogs:

Golden paste is a natural supplement, so it is important to ensure that it is stored in a clean, airtight container. You can store the golden paste in the fridge for one month and in the freezer for two months. It is best, however, to make a fresh batch every month.

Health Benefits of Golden Paste for Dogs:

  • Turmeric: Turmeric can be a powerful spice for our dogs, known for its multiple health benefits such as alleviating allergies, boosting immunity, anti-ageing properties, cancer-fighting abilities, improving gut health, relieving joint pain/arthritis, maintaining brain and eye health, and acting as a blood purifier.
  • Black pepper: Black pepper primarily helps in activating the curcumin which is present in turmeric, however, the dosage must be adjusted based on your dog’s gut and sensitivity.

  • Coconut oil: With its rich content of lauric acid, coconut oil not only serves as an effective agent for maintaining healthy skin and coat, but also boasts immune-boosting properties, exhibits antifungal and antibacterial capabilities, alleviates itching, enhances cognitive function, and aids in weight loss efforts.

Dosage:

  • Small breeds: Half teaspoon a day
  • Medium-sized breeds: 3/4th to 1 teaspoon a day
  • Large breeds: 1 to 1.5 teaspoons a day
  • Extra-large breeds: 1.5 to 2 teaspoons a day

Note:

  • Do not give golden paste to your dog if they are on any painkiller.
  • If your dog is on any specialized diet, check with your vet and nutritionist before including golden paste in their diet.
  • You can reduce the quantity or avoid it during hot weather.
  • Always keep fresh water available for your dog.
  • Never add supplements in excess quantities.
