1) My dog is allergic to chicken, what else can I use?
You can use duck or turkey instead of chicken.
2) Is there a replacement for virgin, cold-pressed coconut oil?
Yes, you can use ghee or olive oil, too!
3) Are these treats safe for all dogs?
Homemade treats are good for all dogs in moderation as long as they are not allergic to the ingredients.
4) Can these chicken jerky be made in an OTG instead of an air fryer?
Yes, they can, but the cooking time will go up.
Note:
- Please introduce any new ingredient gradually, over a few days so you can watch out for any adverse reactions.
- Always ensure that your dogs have fresh drinking water available at all times.
- Don't feed these treats as a meal, only as a snack.
We all tend to give our dogs quite a few treats throughout the day—during training, playtime, while learning new things and sometimes just because they make those puppy eyes at us! So, isn’t it better to give them some homemade and healthy dog treats instead of store-bought ones which contain preservatives and other unknown additives?
I love trying out making different treats for my dogs at home and it gives me great joy to know that I am feeding them something homemade, healthy and preservative-free. Do try these out and tell us how it goes. I will be sharing more recipes soon.
